Gulf Coast Stars Dance Tournament

The Gulf Coast Stars Dance Tournament will be held at The Dance Place on Saturday, October 25, 2008 and offers a unique opportunity for dancers to test their dancing prowess against others with multiple chances to receive scholarship funds from selected entry categories.
This event will feature Pro-Am events in which students enter with their teachers, Am-Am events in which two amateurs/students pair up to enter, and a teacher-teacher category in which a "seasoned" teacher pairs up with a less experienced teacher. Since this is not a "sanctioned" event , entrants are not required to be registered with any professional or amateur body in order to participate.
The Gulf Coast Stars Dance Tournament will feature a wide range of entry levels, such as Newcomer, Bronze 1 & 2, Beginning Silver, Silver 1 & 2, Beginning Gold, gold 1 & 2, Open Bronze, Open Silver, Open Gold and Advanced Open. So there should be a spot for just about everyone. We also offer several multi-dance divisions in which participants must dance 2, 3, 4 or even 5 dances, depending on the category entered.
Various age levels are available, beginning with pre-teens age 10 & under and going to the Adult D level for dancers age 81 & up.
Many of our categories are restricted to syllabus and penalties apply for going "out" of category by dancing material not allowed in the specific level and category entered.
