The Disco Dud

Wow! What a surprising - and disappointing - turn of events in tonight’s Dancing With The Stars.

Jerry and Anna outdid everyone’s expectations with their dazzling freestyle routine. They took us back a few decades to the “afro” look and presented Jerry in a whole new light. He was moving every part of his body in a truly rhythmic manner and looked extremely comfortable out there for a change. He deserved the scores and accolades he received.

Drew and Cheryl’s second performance of their Paso Doble was more refined and polished than the first, and deserved the high scores it received. Their Country Western freestyle routine was fabulous. They were synchronized, had some extremely sophisticated choreography in the routine and gave so much energy to the performance that it was electrifying. He may have had to wait a while to get tens, but Drew certainly deserved all 60 points the judges awarded tonight.

With their Jive, Tony and Stacy again showed that flamboyant gal that has such a flair for dance and received well-earned points for the performance. The Saturday Night Fever freestyle routine was a major disappointment. Even the costumes were a poor choice for this number, causing Stacy to look like June Cleaver and Tony to look like Mr. Clean with hair. The Latin Hustle was danced at such a low-key level that there just was no way to give this routine higher marks.

It will be interesting to see how things turn out Sunday evening at the grand finale.
