Tango for Teens?

The Dance Place recently started group dance classes for young dancers. We want to "nudge" you into signing up the youngsters for this type of class for a variety of reasons with top priority being that dancing is a much better activity than sitting and watching TV, playing video games or surfing the web. Not to mention the millions of truly "bad" things youngsters can be tempted into these days.
Of course, one of the major benefits of dance is the self-assurance gained from learning how to dance. Standing up and looking someone in the eye; Being more coordinated; Being more graceful; The ability to interract with others in a confident manner. These are just a few of the many benefits gained through learning to dance.
The 2-hour priemier of the 3rd season of Dancing With The Stars will air on Tuesday, September 12, at 7pm Houston time. This is a golden opportunity to get youngsters interested in dance. Most of us have youngsters in the family SOMEWHERE, be they children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, etc. Encourage them to watch this type of programming and see if they are interested in learning to dance. Many children are never exposed to partnership dancing in a wholesome atmosphere, so this is a great way to show them what it's all about!
As stated earlier, we are offering dance classes for youngsters. The class takes place at 7pm on Friday evenings, is taught by Viorel Balan, and covers both Ballroom and Latin styles of dance. The youngsters will learn the moves, the timing, the ettiquete of dance, the dance holds, how to lead and follow, proper dance posture and other essential techniques.
The cost is just $12 per class. Viorel is a fantastic teacher who relates well with children of varying ages and who imparts a hunger for learning into his students.
Registration is easy - just show up at The Dance Place, 3300 Chimney Rock, Suite 500, a few minutes before 7pm on Friday and ask for Michael, Phillip or Yvonne. We'll guide you through from there. We are in the Chimney Rock Plaza at the intersection of Chimney Rock and Beverly Hill, and are accessed via the 2nd driveway on the left (south) side of the road when heading west on Beverly Hill from Chimney Rock going toward Fountain View.
We know how hectic the lives of adults can become, and this might not be the MOST opportune time for a children's dance class. To make life a little more interesting for the chauffeurs, we've put a couple of Adult classes opposite this one: Phillip Stephens' Ballroom Essentials and Guennadi's Beginning Standard, both of which take place at 7pm every Friday!
We also have a terrific Practice Party from 8-10pm every Friday for just $5 per person. You don't have to be a student at The Dance Place to join in on the fun of this party, and we offer a special discount to college students.
