Two new courses for for Phillip Stephens' Become a Teacher training program will get underway in June.
With only "word of mouth" announcements so far, the program has once again proven to be extremely popular, and even folk from Beaumont and other outlying areas are signing up for these exciting training opportunities. With a limited number of slots available in each course, spaces are filling up rapidly, and I urge you to get registered now or miss your opportunity to get trained by one of the world's most highly certified dance educators.
Phillip will be starting a new course covering American style dancing on Saturday, June 10, 2006. This course will cover Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango & Viennese Waltz in the Smooth section and Rumba, Cha-cha, Bolero, Swing & Mambo in the Rhythm section.
The class will meet for 3 hours every other Saturday, starting at 10am and finishing at 1pm. The group may occasionally meet 3 times per month, but should normally only meet 2 times per month. Each participant must purchase study manuals, 1 for Smooth & 1 for Rhythm, each costing $25 for a total of $50 for the 2 books. Tuition for the 9-dance course is $150 per month.
Phillip is organizing a course for the International Ballroom & Latin American dances that will also run every other Saturday, but will start on June 17. This course will be conducted just as outlined above, but will cover International style Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep & Tango in the Ballroom section and Rumba, Samba, Cha-cha, Paso Doble and Jive in the Latin American Section. Books must also be purchased for these dances - 6 books total at a total cost of $110.
Tuition is the same - $150 per month - and is paid totally separate from the American style course tuition.
Although a "target date" is set as the conculsion of each series, the courses are "open ended" by nature and will continue until the participants are ready to undergo the dance review and receive a certificate attesting to their satisfactory completion of the program.
All training will take place at The Dance Place, 3300 Chimney Rock Rd., # 500. If you'd like to participate in the training, please send your complete contact details to phillip@theplace2dance.com. If you know someone who may be interested in this program, please forward this information to them.
