New Features at The Dance Place
Well, the BEST new feature at The Dance Place is me, Marie Frisbie! Michael and Phillip have contracted my services to help take some of the administrative burden off of their shoulders. So I'll be around the studio on a daily basis from around 3pm until around 8pm, Monday through Friday.
During the hours I'm there, check with me about paying floor fees for practice or teaching, scheduling class time, asking about room availability for future classes, and so on. I'll help in any way I can and, If I don't have an immediate answer for you, I'll check with the boys and get one.
One of the easiest ways of contacting me is via email. We've set up a special email account for me and, through that account, you can get your question answered either by me or the boys. Send your questions to askmarie@theplace2dance.com and I'll get back to you ASAP once we receive your email.
We have a great class on Fridays geared toward new students. It's called the "First Steps" class and is taught by Melissa Blanco. This is a perfect place for new students to get their feet wet in Ballroom and Rhythm dancing because the class focuses on the basic timing, hold and count for the basic steps in Waltz, Foxtrot, Rumba, Cha-cha, Swing and Tango. At $12 per person per class or $40 per person per 4-week series, this is a very affordable way to get started dancing.
Beginning tomorrow night, Tuesday, October 2, 2007, Lily Brown will be conducting twice-weekl Zumba classes at The Dance Place. Those classes take place at 6pm on both Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and are a great way to do a cardio workout, tone up your muscles, increase your stamina and have a "groaning" good time with friends. For details, contact Lily at 281-998-1720 or via lilyclementbrown@yahoo.com.
Melissa Blanco is planing to launcy a Latin Synergy class that will cover cha-cha, Samba, Rumba and Jive/Swing. These classes will build stamina for both competitive and social dancers, will build your confidence on the danc floor and will also provide an excellent cardio workout in a fun environment. Pre-reserved students pay $10 per class and walk-ins pay $12. We don't have the day and time set yet, but, for details, contact Melissa on 281-734-1570 or via melissae.blanco@gmail.com
Remember to watch Dancing With The Stars and stay tuned for Phillip's commentary about the dancing, the outfits, the judging and the music. To have commentary mailed directly to you, send your request to be entered in our e-news service mailing list to phillip@theplace2dance.com
Happy Dancing!
