A Fashion Show just for YOU!
Designs to Shine founder Maria McGill will be in Houston and at The Dance Place on Friday, February 10th. Maria will be here from around 1:00 PM until we close that evening, and will be presenting a fashion show during the Friday Night Practice Party. And, of course, you are ALL invited!
Maria has been designing dance costumes for several years now, and is becoming an ever more popular costume provider for competitive dancers. For the fashion show, she needs 10 ladies to help by wearing the dresses. You will need to come in during the day to get fitted and to go over details of the show. We will provide more details on this as they become available. However, please volunteer early so we can get your size info to Maria so she brings items that fit you well.
Folk will be able to purchase outfits all day long on Friday, February 10th, and will, if needed, be able to order a custom made outfit if that is your preference.
Following is a bit of information about Maria and her Designs to Shine company.

Custom Designs For You
Designs to Shine was founded in 1996 by Maria McGill, a professional dancer for many years. With the help of her mother, she began to design and embellish gowns for herself. Her creations were so popular with other dancers and she was receiving so many requests that she decided to start making a handful of gowns for other people. Eventually, the demand for her gowns became so great that she decided to devote her time solely to designing.
Today, Maria is widely regarded as the leading designer in the dance world. Her work is considered so cutting-edge that she was chosen to design all of the gowns and some of the menswear for the first season and the rematch special for ABCs hit television show Dancing With The Stars. Designs to Shine has since expanded its line to include custom designed bridal gowns and formal eveningwear. One of her creations was worn by Kelly Monaco at the 2005 Daytime Emmy Awards, and her eveningwear is now being featured in top LA boutique, Pretty.
Due to the enormous popularity of Dancing With The Stars, Maria has received a great amount of attention in publications such as Sports Illustrated, Star, In Touch, Inside TV, E-News Daily and others. Recently, Maria has worked on a variety of other projects including the Discovery Channels special Ballroom Boot Camp, and Fox TVs So You Think You Can Dance and Skating With Celebrities.
